Campylobacteriosis is a disease caused by bacteria called Campylobacter. Campylobacter infect the intestinal tract and sometimes the blood. Campylobacteriosis is the most common cause of food-borne diarrhea in Ontario, and in the world.

Should one go to childcare, school, or work if they have campylobacteriosis? |
Exclude symptomatic food handlers and healthcare providers, and childcare staff and attendees until symptom free for 24 hours, or 48 hours after completion of antibiotic or anti-diarrheal medications. If a relapse occurs, exclude again, and seek medical attention as needed. Follow the direction of your healthcare provider, public health case manager, or occupational health at your workplace. |
