Standards of care and best practices in health care provision for people who are trans |
World Professional Association for Transgender Health: Promotes the highest standards of health care for individuals through the articulation of Standards of Care (“SOC”) for the Health of Transsexual, Transgender, and Gender Nonconforming People. The SOC are based on the best available science and expert professional consensus. Sherbourne Health Centre: A focus on LGBTQ people has resulted in the Centre having a larger than average population of trans clients. Because trans hormone treatments have been a major component of their practice, they have developed a protocol to reflect and inform hormone administration in the clinic. These protocols enable more family physicians to be involved in care of trans clients. |
