Youth and teens should delay their drinking for as long as possible, as it can harm the way the body and brain develop.
However, youth alcohol use is declining in recent years. Factors that support declining alcohol use include strong peer and adult relationships, a safe school environment, community engagement, and participation in organized activities during leisure time.
