NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is advising parents, students and school bus drivers of a potential exposure to COVID-19 on school bus routes 277 and 278 between September 8 and September 10, 2021. All high-risk close contacts are being contacted and will be provided with instructions by public health. Not all individuals who were on the bus are considered high-risk close contacts.
Anyone who has not been advised by Public Health that they have had a high-risk exposure is considered low-risk. Low-risk contacts should self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and are not required to self-isolate. If your child experiences symptoms, even mild symptoms, they should self-isolate and arrange to be tested immediately.
Symptoms include:
- Fever and/or chills (temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius/100 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Cough or barking cough (croup)
- Shortness of breath
- Decrease or loss of taste or smell
- Nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Muscle aches and pain
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Abdominal pain
- Headache
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Decreased or lack of appetite
