Public Service Announcement: Phone Scam Alert

NORTH BAY, ON - The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is warning the public about a scam we became aware of this morning. A concerned member of the public called the Health Unit to inquire about a call they received to participate in a phone survey from the Health Unit. The caller, pretending to be a Health Unit employee, asked questions about their COVID-19 status, pets and the number of people in the home.

The Health Unit is currently not conducting a survey specific to COVID-19. If you receive a suspicious call, do not share personal information and contact your local police to report it. You may also contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
