Back to SearchNORTH BAY, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is waiting for confirmation on local distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine. The province is currently in phase one of the Government of Ontario’s three-phase vaccine distribution implementation plan, that was launched in December. This means that when the Health Unit receives the COVID-19 vaccine the priority will be given to residents, staff and essential care givers of long-term care homes, retirement homes and other congregate care settings for seniors.
The Health Unit has started to plan for the rollout of the vaccine throughout each of the three phases, as we want to ensure that once we are provided the COVID-19 vaccine that we are able to start immunizations as soon as possible.
Once we have additional information about the local availability of the COVID-19 vaccine the Health Unit will let the public know. In the meantime, we recommend that individuals visit the Government of Ontario’s website for more information on their plan and information on vaccine safety.
