MATTAWA, ON – COVID-19 vaccine appointments are available for five to 11-year-olds Sunday, Jan. 16, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Mattawa Golden Age Club (476 Poplar St., Mattawa). Individuals must be at least five years of age at the time of their appointment.
Parents and guardians can book their child’s second dose appointment at an eight-week interval at Ontario.ca/BookVaccine. To book a child’s second dose appointment sooner than at the recommended eight-week interval, call the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) Call Centre at 1-844-478-1400. First doses can also be booked online or by phone.
Older siblings or parents will be able to receive an adult dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at these clinics if they are accompanying a child to their appointment. The Health Unit is recommending eight weeks between first and second doses for all age groups, and 84 days between second and third doses for individuals 18 and older.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine is encouraged to visit myhealthunit.ca/KidsCOVIDVaccine, or contact the Health Unit Call Centre.
