NORTH BAY, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) is saddened to report the passing of an individual in the Nipissing district who tested positive for COVID-19. This is the fifth COVID-19 related death in the Health Unit’s district since the beginning of the pandemic. Out of respect for the individual’s family and friends, no further information will be provided.
“I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the individual’s family and friends. My thoughts are with them at this difficult time,” shares Dr. Jim Chirico, Medical Officer of Health. “COVID-19 is very much still present in our district, and every loss is devastating. Everyone must continue to protect themselves and others by following public health measures and getting fully vaccinated.”
