NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – Individuals 80 years of age and older are now eligible to book their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a shortened time interval. Individuals can change their appointment online at Ontario.ca/BookVaccine or by calling the provincial booking line at 1-833-943-3900. Based on vaccine supply, the province is anticipating reducing the time interval between doses for other age groups in the near future.
“It is great news that individuals 80 and older can book their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. We want to ensure that our most vulnerable people are fully vaccinated as soon as possible, and look forward to everyone who received their first dose to receive their second dose,” states Dr. Jim Chirico, Medical Officer of Health.
Individuals 12 and older who have not booked their first dose appointment can do so online at Ontario.ca/BookVaccine or by calling the provincial booking line at 1-833-943-3900.
Youth ages 12 to 17 are encouraged to book into our youth-specific clinics. Clinics will run the weeks of June 14 and June 21. Youth can choose to attend a clinic alone or with a parent or guardian.
The COVID-19 vaccine is free, safe and you do not need an OHIP (Health Card) to book. If you do not have an OHIP card, you must call the Health Unit to book your appointment toll-free at 1-844-478-1400.
