News Release: COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics are Back on the Move!

NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – The Mobile Vaccine Clinic is on the move again, thanks to the collaboration between the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) and the City of North Bay. The Mobile Vaccine Clinic is a retrofitted city bus offering the COVID-19 vaccine to eligible individuals across the Health Unit’s district.

Starting this month, individuals can walk into a mobile clinic to receive their vaccination. The bus will offer Moderna, Pfizer and the pediatric Pfizer vaccine. Individuals can stay up-to-date with locations, dates and times of the Mobile Vaccine Clinic on the Health Unit’s website at myhealthunit.ca/GetVaccinated.

“Last summer we launched the Mobile Vaccine Clinic, which saw great success. Relaunching now makes sense with the warmer weather, increased eligibility for fourth doses and people looking to receive their primary vaccine series and booster dose(s). As COVID-19 continues to circulate in the community, staying up-to-date on all recommended vaccines remains one of the most important tools to protect ourselves and our communities against the impact of COVID-19. The Mobile Vaccine Clinic reduces barriers by making COVID-19 vaccines more accessible across our district,” says Dr. Carol Zimbalatti, Public Health Physician.

“Last year’s collaboration on the Mobile Vaccine Clinic allowed the Health Unit to reach people all across their district and the City of North Bay is proud to once again support this initiative,” states Mayor Al McDonald.

All COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed. Individuals are required to follow public health measures, including wearing a face covering and practicing physical distancing. If possible, individuals should bring a piece of identification when attending a clinic. Do not attend a clinic if experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
