PARRY SOUND, ON – The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit (Health Unit) has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at the Parry Sound McDonald’s as of March 12, 2021. The Health Unit and management at the Parry Sound McDonald’s worked collaboratively to manage the outbreak and to ensure the safety of the staff and customers.
An outbreak was declared on February 26, 2021, after four employees had tested positive for COVID-19, three of which received a preliminary positive result for a COVID-19 Variant of Concern. The outbreak was contained and no further cases tested positive as a result.
“I want to thank our Communicable Disease Control staff and the Parry Sound McDonald’s team for their great work in managing this outbreak,” mentioned Dr. Jim Chirico, Medical Officer of Health. “McDonald’s has made all the efforts to follow public health guidelines and has prioritized the safety of its employees and customers throughout this outbreak.”
