COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics Return for Spring

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

NIPISSING & PARRY SOUND, ON – COVID-19 vaccine clinics are returning to the Nipissing and Parry Sound districts as early as this week, allowing individuals to stay up-to-date on their booster doses.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is encouraging those who are at higher risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19 to walk in or book an appointment if it has been at least six months since their last dose or COVID-19 infection. Vaccines will not be administered to individuals looking to get their vaccine earlier than the six-month interval.

Individuals aged five or older who have not had a COVID-19 booster since September 1, 2022 or a COVID-19 illness in the last six months are also urged to get a spring booster dose.

Upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics:

Mattawa

• Thursday, April 13 at Mattawa Golden Age Club (464 Poplar St., Mattawa) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

North Bay

• Tuesday, April 18 at Elks Lodge (325 Elks Ln., North Bay) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Thursday, April 20 at Elks Lodge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Parry Sound

• Thursday, April 6 at Parry Sound Mall (70 Joseph St., Parry Sound) from noon to 4 p.m.
• Friday, April 21 at Parry Sound Mall from noon to 4 p.m.

Sturgeon Falls

• Wednesday, April 26 at Marcel Noël Hall (219 O’Hara St., Sturgeon Falls) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Sundridge

• Tuesday, April 11 at SSJ Arena (14 Albert St. N., Sundridge) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Clinic hours are subject to change to accommodate demand for the COVID-19 vaccine. The schedule will be updated online at myhealthunit.ca/GetVaccinated.

Appointments can be booked online at Ontario.ca/BookVaccine, or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900. Private appointments can be made through participating pharmacies in the Parry Sound and Nipissing districts.

Individuals are reminded to wear a face covering at clinics and, if possible, bring a health card or another form of identification.
