In response to feedback from older adults in our community, four education sessions - including one session in French - will take place in-person and online throughout November 2022, focusing on different topics each week to support healthy aging.
Each presentation will be accompanied by an in-person demonstration or social activity. For those able to attend in person, light refreshments will be offered.
If you are interested but not able to attend the live events, sessions will be recorded and available at a later date on the Health Unit’s YouTube Channel.

En réponse aux commentaires des personnes âgées de notre communauté, quatre sessions d'éducation - dont une en français - auront lieu en personne et en ligne tout au long du mois de novembre 2022, en se concentrant sur des sujets différents chaque semaine pour soutenir un vieillissement sain.
Chaque présentation sera accompagnée d'une démonstration en personne ou d'une activité sociale. Pour ceux qui pourront assister en personne, des rafraîchissements légers seront offerts.
Si vous êtes intéressé mais que vous ne pouvez pas assister aux événements en direct, les sessions seront enregistrées et disponibles ultérieurement sur la chaîne YouTube du Bureau de santé.

Description: Join us to learn more about eating well as we age, with dietetic intern Beth Griffin. The presentation will cover why nutrition is an important part of healthy aging, how eating well can help prevent falls and what nutrients we may need more of as we get older. You will also learn tips to make grocery shopping and cooking easier and more fun!

Description: Part I: Many Ontarians continue to express frustration when trying to navigate the healthcare system to find services they need for themselves or their loved ones. There are many different databases and websites, brochures and other forms of written information; however, it is not easy to find a complete and up to date resource that helps people find the help they need. Ontario Health Teams (OHTs), in collaboration with the province of Ontario are working together to solve this problem. Staff from our local Nipissing Wellness OHT are going to present the status of this work and provide an opportunity for participants to contribute to the final local product.
